Transition Level

    Transition program includes vocational training, integrated employment, continuing and adult education, adult services, independent living or community participation.  The coordinated activities must be based on the individual needs, taking into account the students preferences and interests.  It includes activities in the areas of functional academics, daily living skills, community experiences, the development of employment and other adult living objectives and if appropriate, functional vocational evaluation (Y. Quijano, 2007).

     Pulo National High School SPED Center caters Transition program, and are now in Team Teaching with the Cabuyao Central SPED Center.

      Initially there are 15 SPED students enrolled with different disabilities:

  • 7 students diagnosed with Intellectual disability (ID)

  • 3 students diagnosed with moderate Autism Syndrome

  • 1 student diagnosed with severe ASD

  • 2 students diagnosed with Down Syndrome (DS)

  • 2 students diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy

Curriculum

The Philippine Model of Transition program has 3 domains:

  • Daily Living skills

  • Personal and Social skills

  • Guidance, Preparation and Occupation

To target these 3 domains these are the activities provided:

  • Pre – vocational & Vocational activity

  • Arts and Craft activity

  • Communication skills activity

  • Indoor & outdoor games

  • Music/Dance Therapy

  • Film Viewing activity

  • Activities of Daily Living
