GENDER AND DEVELOPMENT (GAD) PLAN AND BUDGET
FY 2020
Amidst corona virus pandemic, Pulo National High School initiated a webinar which helped the teachers to be aware on sex, gender- based violence and internet etiquettes most specially to those who will be handling online classes. As the needs arise in using internet, this webinar will be their guide to educate learners on the responsible use of different media sources and platforms.
Pulo National High School as an institution, embraces the changes that come into the society. It is very important that we are aware of what do women acted an important role to build our community.
Letting women to be empowered make them to be confident and be engaged appropriately in this institution. This will assure that they could be able to contribute for the development and changes.
We all know that in this part of the world we stand, we might neglect the importance of having women to contribute changes. We are still possibly detained in a mind-set that these women could do nothing; could not do some works because they are weak. This thinking should be vanished as we are now celebrating women’s month. We have to accept that the work of men could be the work of women. Whatever a man can do, otherwise a woman too.
As we initiated different activities that cater the celebration, this comes to the realization that this makes a great impact which led to our faculty, staff and most of all to our students.
In behalf of Representative Cong. Antonio Tino, the topics were discussed by Ms. Myrvene Joy Tesorero, Act NCR Representative. During the discussion Ms. Tesorero explained the difference between the Equity and Equality in the work place and how it happens within the employees. It was followed by the update on Teachers’ Protection Policy. Some teachers asked questions and queries regarding to the TPP. They raised their concerns and how they could be saved by the protection. Teachers also opened up the different benefits which are to be received according to the ACT Party List. Another thing which was discussed by the Representative from ACT was about the cooperative. She said that having cooperative is not that simple but very interesting in the sense that there will be a source to which they will use it times of emergency. She discussed the ways of how it is to be started.
