HISTORY OF PULO NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL
Pulo National High School is one of the six public secondary schools in the City of Cabuyao, Laguna. It is situated beside Birmingham Village, Pulo, Cabuyao City.
To provide quality and accessible education for the graduates of Pulo Elementary School and parents who cannot afford to send their children in private learning institutions , Pulo Barangay High School was established through the joint initiative of the late Antonio Mandigma , Barangay Captain,Pulo Cabuyao,Laguna ; Mr.Pedro Ricarte , a barangay counsel on Education ; and Mrs. Eriberta Cayamanda, Principal of Pulo Elementary School and her husband Mr.Rodolfo B.Cayamanda in 1975.
The first year of Pulo Barangay High School spearheaded by Mrs. Eriberta Cayamanda as the school head of both elementary and high schools. The pioneer mentors Mrs.Lucena M.Doyac (nee Mendoza) and Mr. Proceso Dinulos ( deceased ), handled one hundred multi-age enrollees, mostly ages ranged from 16-20 for the first year level .
In nineteen seventy seven (1977), Mrs .Cayamanda retired and her husband Mr.Rodolfo B. Cayamanda took her position. With the leadership of Mr. Cayamanda as new principal, the enrollment increased. Some students who could not afford to pay their tuition fees in private institutions and some students from other barangays enrolled in the said school , thus the population reached to 829 students. Insufficient number of teachers became one of the problems of the school. Some teachers from elementary school were assigned to teach in the high school.
After twelve years, Mr.Cayamanda transferred to the District office of Cabuyao. Mrs.Lilia L. Cadiz took the vacant position. This marked the beginning of progressive and instantaneous improvement of PNHS. The Municipal Local Government Unit provided twenty one (21) teachers who handled nine hundred thirteen (913) enrollees.
In nineteen eighty eight (1988) , Pulo Barangay High School was renamed into Pulo National High School. For many years, a rapid increase in population has been observed. Alarde; PNHS Choire and Dance Troupe of Mrs.Cecilia Deveza and Mr.Antonio Ballestamon; GSP of Mrs.Rubirita T. It was sponsored by the provincial government through the leadership of Governor Teresita S.Lazaro, a very supportive and benevolent governor of Laguna, Mayor Proceso “ Etok “ Aguillo and succeeded by Mayora Nila Aguillo.
